When the hell did Insignias Regals get so damn cheap used?

Kinja'd!!!

Ones with well under 50,000 miles are floating around $16k. For cars that most likely stickered for well over $30k.

I don’t think they’re bad cars, are they? My uncle has a 2011 turbo model and loves it. They keep depreciating at this rate they’re gonna get tempting as a first “adult” car purchase real quick.

Such as this one right here:

Lots of incentives mean they never came close to MSRP.

Yeah, those are going down a lot quicker than I would have thought. I think they are nice cars, but the interior has a ton of hard plastic for a “premium” car. Like most Ford’s seem to feel more upscale.

Most American and German cars lose their value quick. They’re not Hondas :p

As someone whose parents have a 2014 Fusion, “seems more upscale” is the right phrase to use because the build quality is appalling. Lots of squishy material though, so there’s that.

Honda and Toyotas hold their value to an almost stupid level. Good for owners, bad for someone like me who wants an old Civic Si.

Yeah, I know what you mean. It’s weird, but the squish is not nice to touch. But I like that it is much less shiny than the hard plastics. To me, it looks nicer. But at the same time it’s not like it’s nice.

I looked at these last year for exactly this reason. 2012 turbo 6MT’s were already well under $20k with factory warranty remaining. The biggest problem is they just don’t feel all that premium in person. Lots of them already had text wearing off of the dash buttons and indicator stalks. The leather is too hard. The rear seat is surprisingly small for the size of the vehicle. I was comparing with a 2012 VW CC 2.0T with 30k miles for around the same price and the VW felt more premium in every way. Of course when I couldn’t get the dealer to knock another $500 off of the VW, I decided I liked resale value and bought a CPO Forester the next day :-/
